  • Showering In Canberra Showers

    9.40AM

Aquatic Centres have school carnivals today according to a search, so I went to this spotvat Weston Park and fortunately it was unpeopled.

Had a cubicle to heat the water and not wet the jet, and showered with the lake in view, lush foliage around, no one here and no wind. Absolutely one of the best. Exciting to pull it off, too.

Heavier rains later today and evening. Have to work out where I’m staying and get dinner early. Will go and do that now. 10 AM

    6.25 PM

Quite an unusual and possibly very fortuitous day. After the shower I think I got groceries and headed to Mawson. Looked okay once again for a stopover. Problem is sport: tennis or training right next to the carpark.

Did some internet searching and drove to have a look. It’s pretty close to Mawson which means also the hospital.

First to Wanniassa which looks just fine. Then:

Smack into Kambah history. I must have seen this as a kid, often Ivsurveyed, chainmanned, out here and we came regularly. Can’t recall yet though.

Could stay in that area, but seems it’s patrolled at 8PM and 7AM.

Then suddenly I was upon mountains and a valley and country.

    Those might be the Brindabellas.

Farther down the road are Kambah Pools. Natural, I think. I didn’t go down in the wet, bit steep. But must go back. That could be a country stay closer than Brooks Hill.

So here I am now, updating in Mawson carpark, in the rain, dull, rain deflectors in place, wondering if I’ll sleep. Socdar so good, although someone drove in next door, looked, and zoomed off.

Heavy rain around 11 tonight apparently. I don’t mind. I found country!

    7.30 PM

Fuck. The oval lights just came on.

  • Dawn Of Autumn.

Woke before 4AM hrre at Brooks Hill after a straight-through sleep, cooler air, to the first day of Autumn.

Absolutely heartened that horrific heatwaves won’t impact as they have, and absolutely heartened for the cool fresh atmosphere and light, mist and fog, up ahead.

    I love Autumn.

    6.25 AM

A few things require attention before they fet away. I must go back and make entries about Gundagai and Tumut, and most especially about the Snowy Mountains Highway from Tumut to Adaminaby. Mindblowing.

Have to do something about these batteries I’m lugging around. Probably.

Should transfer phone images not published and put them onto an external disc.

    8.35 AM

Leaving Brooks Hill. Autumn showing in this shot just taken:

    9 40 AM

Sitting at a Queanbeyan park, got water, very tired, pad and pen trying to work out the days. 16th is Batemans Bay car service, back up for 25th hospital. 15 days or so.

Decided to look for stayover options out near Gungahlin.

Might be a Woolies further out.

    4.40 PM

Been spitting rain for a couple of hours. Currently in the van with dinner nearly cooked, down by the lake. I stayed here overnight once before and moved early. What you can’t see is the extremely loud live band thundering across the water. I googled it and it might stop at 5.30PM. Will wait until then but it’s headache material.

Shower at Queanbeyan. Photos of the shunt and a compass at Anaconda. To jbhifi to get a timeframe, which is 14 mths on current plan.

Then to Bunnings, then to the lake for lunch and van work. Small sailboats’ starting line, where I did maintenance.

Cut the four large dustpan handles off and fixed cords to length. That’s tge rain drips covered with easier storage.

Then drilled and screwed brackets either side of the rear hatch lock that travels up and down. At night I inadvertently and almost unavoidably lock the rear, so next day I think it’s unlocked but it’s not. This should protect it so it stays up or down as I select.

    Little Ozito drill went well.

35 minutes for quiet, fingers crossed. It’s loud and I’m dead tired.

    6.40 PM

The music didn’t stop at 5.30 per google and even though I’d had the evening insulin shot I couldn’t eat where I was and quickly got away to eat. Still heard it.

Decided Brooks Hill is too far, couldn’t think of a safe satisfactory place so I’ve come to the hospital. Hopefully security guards will leave me alone or I could be in trouble when I’m having treatments.

This is pretty fucked. I’ve got no real recce places to draw upon, and of course no home.

Anyway, I’m going to try to relax. If I get through the night no guards I’ll be safe here, no marauding kids in loud cars.

    6.55 PM

Set up. It’s started raining. Only put two of the new dustbin shields up, don’t want to attract too much attention, but it gives some air. In bed about to watch Youtube.

  • Adaminaby -Cooma – Rest Spot – Fyshwick – Brooks Hill

Once again I didn’t think there was a safe place to stay in Adaminaby, especially being Friday night.

At Cooma I found a spot and thought about it, went for a walk, rain threatening and spitting, and decided to head on to Canberra and stay on a legit rest area.

I had no idea the rest areas were so good. Everything was perfect until the arsehole.

During the evening a bloke came to the car, I opened the window and, so close I could grab the person, and said firmly it’s too close.

A woman’s voice, quite old, Sorry she said and kept walking. She didn’t mean it.

    Oh it’s you, a lady.

Yeah that’s alright she said. As if to forgive me for my mistake.

It’s not alright I said firmly.

Took a long time to get to sleep with a 4wd in my face.

In the morning, totally preoccupied with this imposition, i saw the cunt. A little arrogant arsehole.

I stared at him, fully aware I could throttle him.

He stared back, a test of wills. I had him and tore him apart. He gestured as though what’s the problem. Smart little nasty cunt. Had answers prepared. He was fine so everything is fine.

    Absolute arsehole attitude.

I filmed him driving past, so close, in case.

What a truly selfish selfish nasty little bastard.

I showered when they left. They put a caged bird and a dog in the back. What problems they’ll make. But the woman might have been embarrassed.

Shower was good in vold wind. Then I saw my key was broken. Quickly I tried a spare in the ignition, allvthe waybin. Phew. Then right, left doors but no go in the sliding door. Broken off in there.

Cooma as planned was now out. A quick google showed tweezers to get out the broken bit. Seemed impossible but I headed to Fyshwick to get them, having misplaced my two.

The drive was spectacular, biblical in low cloud, mist vrain and light pockets in a show. Absolutely stunning.

But I was worried i wouldn’t be able to lock my car, and really stressed and tired from the impact of tge cunt and his car.

Drove around the back to some closed factory driveway to try the door lock.

Within two minutes I had the broken key out.

    Couldn’t believe it.

Went to Anaconda to get some electrical guage as celebration.

    Arrived at Brooks Hill 3PM.

Totally shit end to the best drive I’ve ever had probably.

  • Clueless Arsehole

Hundreds of metres of space and this cunt parks so close if I reverse I hit him. If someone parks in front of me I’m locked in.

I was absolutely enjoying my space and quiet and nearly asleep after a MASSIVE day – sleep I physically and mentally need – and now my blood is boiling with the vile indecent imposition of this cunt who drove up and stopped wiith his car in my dace.

    DSG 30K

    Beware of the driver.

    10.25 PM

Totally unable to get to sleep. Can’t move the car forward because I’ll be on a slope. Got a 4WD in my face.

That’s the car through a window.

Look at that empty space to choose from. And the cunt goes and parks between me and a single girl stopping over in her car. Jammed in. In our faces.
