More fire threat dreams. But a food sleep and no disturbances.

Photo isvout the window towards the highway, my roofline. It’s dark in real life.

    8.25 AM

It’s actually quite chilly. Love it. Very quiet in the rest area. No trucks and only one car stopping by.

    6.35 PM

Back at Brooks. Lost day. Rudderless. Looked in various shops but resisted buying anything.

    Lunch by the lake:

Very windy, dangerous driving here. Chilly, need trackies and blankets. Quiet so far. A large van up the top, might be last night’s. Could be another at the toilets, but sounds like little kids. Police drove out, wasn’t aware they’d come in, but heard a vehicle. Wind and cold and rain in the clouds might have lept the place quiet. Sun breaking through now. Fingers crossed it’s not a bad night.

How bizarre A woman mid to late forties, black top and trousers, small shoulder bag, not walking shoes, no coat, just walked out of toilet area, past the van and heading west beside the highway. 6.45PM.

Night mode, so in real life it’s still dark. Dreams of an approaching fire woke me up.

    3.35PM

Back at Brooks Hill, blowing a gale. Possible thunderstorm but wild dangerous wind. Bad pn the coast apparently.

Interesting time at old parliament house, with a small The Dismissal exhibition.

This from Kerr to Whitlam is almost unbelievable.

    7.50 PM Friday Night Fuckwits

First one, been here for forty-five minutes. Young fuckwit with a grumbling engine he’s left on. A comfort blanket and sound of an identity he dare not switch off lest he lose his manliness. Young girls with him.

He might’ve been here about 2AM one morning, which zi documented. Hangs around the toilets. His territory, a place where he comes to piss like a dog, comfort again, marking the known.

Some displays of aggression. Swearing, revving.

Sounds like two girls there, at least. One a very young child.

My bet is he’s back late tonight, to do it all over again.

Nearly an hour, now, of a noisy engine idling. Very loud, stressful.

    What a nuisance.

8.10PM. Music going now. A kid ran out. Green top, black pants, three years old. Punk is swearing.

I was so worried about this tonight. This place, the toilets, it’s their hang out.

Turned up the music. Not good.

8.17 PM Two cars left. Not one. One a P Plater. Got photos. Might be travellers, one might be much older. Very strange. Extremely pleased they’ve gone.

  • Pre-Thunderstorm Prep

Not much prep. Getting food, a case at KMart Queanbeyan for painting A4 sheets, and running updates while that happens – except, per usual, it’s two hours (so far) to update the computer for 60 seconds specific use.

It was big elsewhere. Non-event here at Bungendore, or rather Brooks Hill. Still, nice and cool.

No one else here except the permanent guy up the end.

Plenty calling in, though, and I expect stopovers.

Trying to get my bearings on what I’m going to do.

    11.05 PM

Truck pulls up music blaring and wakes me from a goodcsleep. I yell out., xanbqe have a break from the music please mate. Driver is a very decent oke yeah of courese.

    drivesvoff.

Showered at Queanbeyan after a terrific sleep in the country air at Bungendore, and arrived.

    5.58 PM

Had hospital dinner after left eye laser treatment. Very hot and windy back in the van. Bad ringing noise from the hospital – again. Makes it hard to sleep. Nasty noise.

    Next appointment on 10 weeks.

    8.05 PM

After the thunderstorm. Still hot in the van, but the air is fresh and relieved.
