Jumped in the cold sea super briefly, cold beach shower, and a bike ride to begin conditioning the old legs. Adjusted the bike’s reach, brakes and gears, and scrubbed it thoroughly again with the Gorilla stuff. I like the bike. Just have to build leg strength. Then paid storage, all the while today keeping an eye on the weather pending my Canberra appointment.

Very tired today. Had a fabulous night, fairly heavy rain – I was pleased to have put the ebike back in storage late yesterday anticipating rain.

Driving in early pre-light to the Bay, oats there, and scrubbed the Giant Elwood SE, the new 2nd hand traditional bike, with Gorilla oil or whatever that stuff is. Chain was a rusted mess. Gave it all a workout as a starter. Short ride: it’s not sensational like the ebike but it’s going to have to do.

No mail, then for a hot shower, two days consecutively. Too tired to really enjoy it, but appreciated it.

Service NSW told me my Fitness to Drive tests could be submitted up to six months prior to the due date, which they reckon is around peoples’ birthday. Strange to hear it referring to me.

Then to Corrigans to dry out the bike tarps and fill up with fresh water. Realised I couldn’t drive far. So to the rest area and crashed immediately.

Fearing damage from rain, yet thrilled by cycling as a means of exploring a locality, I bought a traditional bike second hand quite cheaply. That’ll be what goes to Canberra next week, and possibly back up to Huskisson tomorrow.
