  • Leaf Blower In A State Forest

I’m not joking. Here he is, in Bodalla State Forest using a (very) noisy leaf blower. I don’t think I’ve seen anything so stupid.

    Look at the dust, too.

    IPDATE 5.05PM

This bloke blew leaves around for nearly two hours – he did the whole place. I got a headache and stressed. He left about 3.45.

Since 4.30PM the clouds have come over and the wind picked up, blowing leaves all around the place.

Laundromat etiquette. I never do it, because leaving washing in a machine and not coming back on time leaves queuing customers in a dilemma and aggression can follow. They put in their washing and walk away.

Are we, waiting, allowed to touch their washing, pull it out and put it on the table and use the machine?

I think we are, but it’s unpleasant for the late person and could cause a problem.

UPDATE Fresh new sheets and washed clothes.

Then a hand-held shower at the river trying to keep the dressing dry, in weather very changeable. Lovely like in the photos then dark and spotting rain, five minutes apart.

Oats and fibre mix in Batemans Bay after a fabulous sleep in Waldrens.

Here at the breakwall only one other car, away, along 60m of parking space. I’m sitting in the car about to eat, and a bloke backs in nearly hitting my car. He pulls up so close that he couldn’t open his door fully without hitting mine. Unbelievable!!

I instantly grab the keys, get out one foot from the nonghead, "G’day mate howya goin" he says and I ignore it and move 8m away.

What is it these days? People are brainless.

Then later after a Bay shower, to the Batemans Bay Urgent Care clinic.

In exact opposite to the horrible Moruya Hospital Emergency Department, I was greeted warmly by someone with a pleasant face, looked at me and into my eyes, took precise interest and happily helped me. The triage nurse was warm and welcoming and thoroughly interested in the wound instead of spending all available precious time berating me. I was attended to in correct due course by a doctor then a treating nurse each of whom introduced themselves and informed me of their position. They were professional and caring and very pleasant and respectful of me.

Complete opposite to the substandard operation that makes me angry and sick to recall.

Superb service by BBay Urgent Care Clinic – AND they had five times the number of people to attend to than the horrible place in Moruya.

Been an hour and a half sitting in Moruya ED forced to listen to an obnoxious teenager glued to his phone, some kind lf conference call tech, and a brainless bored teenager on the other end coming loudly through the speakers. No self-composure in the kid to quietly alone like everyone else.

Nonstop talking, none of us able to NOT hear the prick.

Triage nurse berated me. I should have said "I have a wound that’s sore" which is true, and maybe they’d treat me differently.

It’s a place I can’t get away from quickly enough; I forgot how different it is from friendly, sophisticated Canberra.

UPDATE Three hours waiting now. I really don’t want to do this again. The extremely loud emergency drill went off, evacuate evacuate along with the deafening repetitive alarm, and some other instruction on the tape that couldn’t be discerned. Stupid.

Then a male live voice made two announcements addressed to staff and the public but after that were completely indiscernible. This place is extremely badly managed.

UPDATE 3.35PM I’m back at Waldren’s thinking how appalling the counter staff, when I’ve been there and not all of them, at the ED are. It’s a terrible culture.

My wound was starting to hurt, after the morning shower and slippage of the dressing, and painkillers had worn off, and feeling shit from no lunch. So at 1.30PM I said, I have diabetes and if i don’t eat something I’ll pass out, and the painkillers are wearing off so I’ll try to find a pharmacist to rip it off and have a look.”

The truly ugly persona didn’t even bother to look up. Like when I turned up, couldn’t give a shit.

The arsehole triage nurse rushed to say something – triggered by the word “pain” which she heard involved for the first time – too busy berating me for being there instead of enquiring about the wound – but I stared at her and shut her up.

I went tova pharmacist and got the wound cleaned and filled with gel and covered took 10 minutes. Feels better since.

It’s not done right though and needs pro wound treatment and gave me the walk in centre for Batemans Bay, which I hadn’t heard of. Fabulous.

Hope I never see inside the ED at Moruya hospital ever again. It’s terrible. Horrible experience every time.
