When I don’t have time to properly format a post. Could involve any topic.

Everything is drizzle wet, but not cold. Lots of weird dreams through several sleep sections.

    5 PM

Long day. Showered in Moruya centre, then to Batemans Bay. To Industrial Replacements which cut my cable and added lugs, absolutely beautiful job. That was a major lasting worry for me but the guy couldn’t be more helpful nor do a better job. Super professional.

Then picked up indoor table lights from the post office. What a badly managed unpleasant place that can be. Terrible.

With heart in mouth I headed to the rugby oval carpark and started wiring the inverter. Fitted fuse, got the polarity on the cut off switch (up for on) and so on. Full on.

Turned it on and it beeped a warning, but only if I had the on/off switch a certain way: 3 settings, one is for the extension switch which might be the warning.

Drove to Waldrens and used a mirror to look in at the system lights. No beeps. All green. That was a buzz.

So tomorrow I’ll check the extension result, and try a 240v appliance. I have a feeling it’s working.

Then I added the ceiling lights which make a difference at the table. Ugly job but effective. They might fall down with the little screws and thin mdf. Easy enough fix.

So a big day that might prove to be consequential in time, having 240v, I think. Test tomorrow.

Been awake since 4.30 and it’s still dark The days are definitely starting later. This is the night shot mode vastly altering visible light.

Leaving this section after warming the engine, everything a lovely blue, even more mystifying and delicious on the way in to Moruya through the valley, gorgeous mist and fog.

All those trucks but one arrived while I was there.

    7.36 AM

    First rays:

    11.42 AM

A fucking mess, no room, raining, and dangerous low blood sugar.

    Fucking nightmare.

    Inverter is in

I tried a different mounting, horizontal, but the fans and sockets were blocked. Only way is this. The mounting legs are very, very badly designed. Almost idiotic.

    2.52 PM

At Waldrens, the cut off switch has gone in. Crap excess to storage on the way here.

Needs cables cut, but this is the impact.

Lost one shelf and the cables will hassle, but I’ve now done it and have to get used to it, and later what it can do.

Again, very difficult fitting for the switch, but this is the simplest and neatest.

    7.30 PM

Dark, but light captured by night shot.

Much nicer space today, the original clean lines. Rain outside, using the bin deflectors. Only two vehicles here, usuals these last days. Quiet and know the game.

Be good if the dripping rain keeps the late arrivals out.

Very muscle tired and sore from close awkward prolonged twisting work. Feels good.

The cabin is quite enjoyable now, after all this time and testing.

  • Car Repairs

    Needed, too.

    The say started like this:

Woke before 4 so got a chance to read nyt and have a coffee. Didn’t get light so I left anyway; it wasn’t cold.

Shower in the Aquatic Centre which per usual is a joke. Barely made it above freezing. Cool shower paid for a hot one, and they still keep letting everyone down. Appalling management.

Cooked oats instead of maccas because bacon and eggs gives me a hypo. Up to the mechanic and then the wait began. Arrived at 8.10 and paid and left at midday.

But things seem to be fixed that ai thought wouldn’t, and i now have brakes, and rego done. Costly at 560 but pleasing for the work.

One of the new radiator belts was shredded – i think we found the damage from that horrific noise at the bottom of Iron Knob Rd in Fyshwick that frightened the hell out of me for a couple of weeks. Glad that’s fixed.

Car is running beautifully. Very lucky, considering its age. But I do look after it.

So then to Bunnings for a few bits for the inverter installation. No rush.

At Waldrens and a possible storm.

Feeling at 6s and 7s and lost, but a good day to have happened.

Now 4.40 PM. Some here, including the guy at the top who’s been here since I have. French guy not happy much about life. I understand.

    8.04 PM

Been muggy and hot. Place is full except for the car up my arse. Might get away with it but that’s the only spot left. I really don’t want to be disturbed especially so close, tonight.

Looking forward to it cooling off early in the morning. Then play with installing the inverter, try to work out where I’m going to go.

Very lost. The Iran war and petrol prices and uncertain supply is a problem. Could get us all in the shit. Living in a car especially.

    In-van view.

Includes matters of how I live. Sliding van windows and locks, water outlet that I don’t use but see continually, bollards, a towel instead of a curtain: easier to peg up, dries the towel, and saves the curtain.

    6.57 AM

Had a good sleep. Lovely. One interruption at 2.30 with a new arrival but didn’t trigger awakeness. Cool to chilly. With the late vehicle, three in total.

    Overcast morning.

To do today: clean van for service and rego check tomorrow. After that, all going well, wait a couple of days for a downlight (new one over the table) to be delivered, supposed to have a doctors appointment but the bloke didn’t bother to look at all my glucose efforts and data and I have little respect for him, and then probably back up to the tablelands.

    More Moruya life:

Above at 8 AM. View cooking breakfast.

    1.30 PM

Washed the car again, water only, at the shower spot – the van had streaks all over it from yesterday’s cheap wash – but showered at the pool. Decided not to go to Batemans Bay because of fuel and wear and tear, just to wash it again.

Did clothes washing, then came here to riverside and, again, hand washed the car, cthis time with disinfectant cleaner. Should get greasy shit off. Cleaned the cabin too, for rego check and service tomorrow.

Feels much better to get the freshness into the vehicle, my little home.

    3.42 PM

At Waldrens and finished chores for the day. Been productive with little bits and pieces. Charged two drill batteries for installing the inverter, folded clothes, made the bed, shirts in a new spot in the side compartment giving more space, sewed up the holes in new shorts from nuisance keys catching and tearing (the shorts won’t last long), transferred 30 for panicky aussie bb, and again some reorganisation. Good day to stop the task niggles.

One van, same one, at the top, a car visiting, and no one else. Was alone when I got here.

If it’s quiet it’ll be a nice night.

    4.13 PM

Two vehicles around me. One old codger (like me) in a car, lovely guy, homeless by the sounds, in front, doing it tough but not complaining, pommy accent detectable, and a big motorhome taking up the whole bay spots. Pretty busy for the hour.

    8.40 PM

Fucking dickhead banging his car door 100 times, walking talking right next to me, hasn’t set up their roof tent yet. Unbelievable. Tourist with a foreign accent. They just don’t care.

And where is this music again? Same fucking music, loud and disturbing. Same as last night but I got to sleep between sets.

This is tough. I’ve heard it here before. Comes after I’ve settled down and is dark. Maybe a house nearby. But it destroys the place.
