More on it, using a little learning from a video. I bought a permanent marker and blacked out the inside of the cracks on the windscreen, then used a q-tip to adjust the resin drops, added the clear plastic strip, and left it alone. No scraping. I’m hoping the black plus the irregular resin surface will eliminate sharp, bright reflections along the crack. A bit of fading and I might get away with this until I can afford a new windscreen and rubber.

Thankfully the upper single crack isn’t in my direct driving sight, and is quite low. The very low triple crack is a structural concern, but not in my sight.

    Upper crack today: 13.5cm

Started with slightly misty sunrise after a long sleep.

And to get away from the windscreen worries, a walk.

What a bastard. I bought some ebay windscreen repair liquid resin and followed the same procedure as with the supercheapauto liquid resin that had run out, and fifteen minutes later these cracks appeared from nowhere. Made it worse! I came back from the tablelands concerned for this very thing but due to freezing temperatures. Now I have to replace the entire windscreen absent a miracle.

I had three goes at this today. Couldn’t get a satisfactory result, and not knowing what I was doing didn’t help. I might try again tomorrow, but I expect this is a $500 problem incurred today.
